Congratulations to our physio Keith and the U21 Victorian Men’s Hockey team on winning gold at the National Championships held in Canberra last week. The team went through the tournament undefeated, beating WA 2-1 in the final. The result was just reward for the team’s consistency throughout the 6 games. The tournament was filled with high quality talent, with many of the boys pushing for Australian Junior World Cup selection, which will be held in New Delhi in 2016.
Winning gold at the National championships was the culmination of a 10-week training preparation for players and support staff. Although there were a few injury concerns to key players in the lead up to the tournament, Keith was able to provide the match committee with a full squad to select from for the gold medal match.
Here at Malvern Physio, Keith provides screening and injury management for many State League hockey players and is also the club physio at Powerhouse St. Kilda, who are currently sitting 3rd on the Victorian Men’s Premier League table.
