Myotherapy in Malvern East, Glen Iris & Malvern

What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is a type of hands-on therapy that involves the assessment and treatment of all different types of aches and pains. Similar to other modalities of treatment, myotherapists have a range of ways they can fix your pain or injury. Some of the techniques that myotherapists are known for are: various massage techniques, manual trigger point therapy, dry-needling, myofascial release, cupping, and joint mobilizations. Their knowledge of anatomy and pathology will allow them to conduct the relevant tests to discover which of these therapeutic options is going to have the best effect for you. Additionally, they may use: assisted stretching, lymphatic drainage, load management, exercise prescription, electrotherapeutic techniques along with educating you on activity and/or lifestyle modifications that may help your condition.

Most people know that remedial massage is one component of myotherapy, although not everyone is aware of the other techniques that a myotherapist can use. It’s through this greater range of skills and experience that a myotherapist can more holistically treat your body and improve your enjoyment in life.
