Jo Patterson

Jo completed her Diploma of Remedial Massage with Victoria University in 2016 after swapping from studying BSc Exercise and Sports Science (Exercise Physiology). She has developed her skills further by undertaking the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy which she completed in early 2019.

Before starting work as a remedial massage therapist, Jo worked for 4 years as a personal trainer and also 1 year as strength and conditioning assistant at Essendon Football Club. This has provided her with an excellent insight into the strengthening requirements of the body to help it function optimally. Jo then continued at Essendon Football Club as a Sports Trainer and Remedial Massage Therapist for a further 3 years.

She maintains her skills and knowledge working with a variety of athletes, in particular triathletes and is currently working with Melbourne United Basketball team for the 2019/2020 season.

She is accomplished in Myotherapy, remedial massage, treating musculoskeletal injuries, myofascial release,Trigger Point therapy, pregnancy massage, lymphatic drainage, dry needling, cupping, exercise rehabilitation and more.

Jo has a personal passion and interest in sports injury rehabilitation and injury prevention. She also strongly values working collaboratively with all clients to achieve their goals in alleviating musculoskeletal pain and imbalances. Jo uses a team approach with other therapists to achieve these goals and great outcomes. Her treatment approach is personalised and holistic and she can offer exercise and lifestyle advice when appropriate.
