Pregnancy and Post-Natal Physiotherapy

Pregnancy and the post-natal period involve many transformations to a woman’s body.
During these times, it is essential to maintain muscle strength and fitness pregnancy to cope with the many changes that will occur.

It is important to choose appropriate exercises during this period to look after your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic has Physiotherapists who are able to help guide you through exercises that are suitable at different stages of pregnancy and motherhood.

Some common conditions that arise during these periods include:
• Low back pain
• Pelvic pain – including pelvic girdle pain or pelvic instability
• Pelvic floor concerns
• Wrist pain
• Neck pain
• Mastitis (blocked duct)

Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic offers Post-natal Fitness Pilates – a mix of Clinical Pilates, gym exercises, weights-based exercises and stretches. The focus is on building up your core, pelvic floor muscles and overall general strength.

These classes are offered on a Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00pm – 3:00pm, and we are more than happy for you to bring your babies along. If you have a group of other Mums who would like to attend, but these times are unsuitable, please contact the Clinic and we will do our best to arrange a class at a mutually convenient time to suit your needs.
